I look forward to serving you as Senate Republican Leader

I am honored to announce that I have been chosen by my Senate Republican colleagues to be their new leader.

As Leader, I will work diligently with my caucus as well as other elected officials to make real progress on the pressing issues of the day: High unemployment, a reoccurring budget deficit, and an underfunded education system, just for starters.

I will use my experience helping to write the budget in the past to put forward solid solutions to improve Washington’s economy and jobs situation.  And yes, we can do this without raising taxes.

As it stands, Republicans in the Senate are again in the minority, but I look forward to working with Democrats to make progress together. Moreover, I am optimistic that the recent talk of a bipartisan majority of Democrats and Republicans will become a reality.

But whether the Democrats retain the majority or there is a power sharing arrangement of some kind, know that I will use my position and influence in the best way I know to serve you.

In my last newsletter I asked what your priorities are. As you can see, the answers I received were pretty clear!
