With a longstanding commitment to public service, Senator Schoesler commenced his legislative journey in 1993, earning a distinguished 12-year tenure in the House of Representatives. His subsequent election to the Washington State Senate in 2004 marked a pivotal point in his career, assuming the mantle of the Senate Republican Leader in the esteemed Senate Republican Caucus for 16 years. Within the Senate, he serves as an influential member of the Rules and Ways and Means committees, in addition to his appointment to the Select Committee on Pension Policy.

Beyond his legislative pursuits, Senator Schoesler upholds a rich agricultural heritage as a fifth-generation dryland wheat farmer in Ritzville, a cornerstone of Adams County, tending to the same land that has been in his family’s care since the 1880s. Alongside his devoted wife Ginger, they take pride in their two married children, Veronica and Cody, and revel in the joys of grandparenthood, doting on a grandson and two granddaughters.
